Hello, I found this forum after spending a lot of time reading about Odinism and alternatives to Christianity. Previously, I had been attending a Christian church but was becoming more and more dissatisfied with what I was expected to believe there. Specifically, the idea that I am worthless save for the grace of some distant "God". As a child I had the D'Aulaires book of Norse mythology and was fascinated by it, reading through it many times. Then for a long time I never seriously thought about it again. Recently I have discovered books such as those by Ron McVan and others, which made me realize that it's more than just pictures and stories. The more I read about Odinism, the more attractive it is to me and I feel the faith calling to me. I look forward to learning much more in the future, and I am thankful this place exists so I may meet new people to discuss things with.
