Never heard of it before now, but I just checked it out and I think it would be kinda cool, I'm all for events that are rooted in European culture. I'm sure you could get it done with the right permits and with a little cooperation from your local FD, maybe even make it a yearly thing that your town might look forward to.

Seems like a good time, I'm just not sure if I'd want the public around in the US. People get stupid here and that's a lot of fire. Still if its no one I care about getting hurt then I'm game.
My main thought why the hell not? All these other religions have their stuff, maby it's time for us to show how we have a good time. Show the true haritage of our ways. I mean even the wiccans have their festivals, I think it's time.

Have you ever heard of the burning man thing the wacko artsy type people have in (I THINK) New Mexico? They burn a 25ft wooden thing of a man at the end of their festable. No one gets hurt AND the gov don't get into it.
