    Default Introduction

    Hail All!

This is a new subforum to discuss intentional communities. Recently I have seen some boasts of starting the "first Asatru intentional community". Just to clear some things up.... I don't know the "first" community, but Jost Turner started an Asatru Community in the 90s (I believe) and had a school, curriculum, Asatru worship, etc... I was located in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range in Northern California.

We advocate a new back to the land movement. We hope that Volksberg, our family homestead in the secluded mountains of Northern California, will serve as an example, a viable alternative for the responsible and self-reliant of our Folk, to begin a new life, a simple, joyful, life, close to nature, and away from the degeneracy of the urban cesspools. As our Folk grows and grows, we hope to provide a viable destiny for our folk:

    Back to the Land!
    ~Jost Turner

Regardless of his politics, he was an Odinist and he did start an intentional community. I can't post the link where I got this but you all can google his name and community and find his whole article on it.

This idea is well suited to Odinism, since our gathering of Folk for the purpose of honoring our Gods and Goddesses is the beginning of creating these very intentional communities! Many of us move to be more near our Folk, many go out of our way to only patronize Odinic businesses, etc... We are, in a slow way, creating these intentional communities.

The OR in both Vinland and the UK (and worldwide really) have been working tirelessly for several years (5 years for our Hearth) at creating an intentional community and in fact have an intentional community...we call it Folk Building...a phrase we coined from another Odinist (Milton Kleim--who disappeared from the Odinist cause probably from disappointment with the "good ol boys club") way back ....5 years ago in collaboration with Sigrdrifa (whose very tagline is Folk Building the Future)! We have cooperative business, education, whole health, child care, clothing exchange, gardens, etc.... Just not on a huge piece of land....

Our idea is to build in an urban setting until we have the capacity and resources to create a PAZ--Permanent Autonomous Zone where we can truly....get back to the land!

With that said I find it arrogant and selfish to boast such a thing, when it isn't who is first, it is who is starting them and helping others to do the same so all our Folk regardless of political opinion or "Odinist", "Asatru", "Irminic", etc... can create a vibrant web of *Folkish Heathenism* that will change the future for our children and our Folk.... THAT is what *it* is about...

Please post all ideas, thoughts, positive strides in your Folk Communities.

Many hands make for light work! Lets share our ideas so we can duplicate a recipe for success! Let us utilize our online Odinic intentional community for the benefit of all.

I think it is a wonderful idea. I plan on starting my own company eventually and I intend to spend as much of my personal profit towars heathen causes as possible. Perhaps I can start something like this.

A wayfarer should not walk unarmed,
But have his weapons to hand:
He knows not when he may need a spear,
Or what menace meet on the road.

I have some stuff here from Jost Turner in the old days..... Let me dig it up again, ran across it earlier this week as I was going through some old stuff I was working on before.

Your ridiculous little opinion has been noted.

The Bible says that Jesus died for our sins. Couldn't you say the same thing about King Kong, Cool Hand Luke, and Frankenstein?

I am taking applications for a new Anger Monkey - please post stupid things to apply.
