Welcome Darken,

I would like to thank you for joining us here at Odinist.com and look forward to your input. You have been a great inspiration for me over the years and you were one of the major folks that drew me towards Odinism in my younger years being involved in the Black Metal scene here in England.

For anyone that hasn't heard Graveland or Lord Wind, please checkout the introduction music (Lord Wind) when you access the Odinic Rite website.

Hail Darken
Hail the High Ones
Hail the Re-Awakening

Hailsa,
Darken here...Reading your post made me really happy. I am very glad that my activity is an inspiration for other people. It confirms me in the convictions that I have chosen the right path. I have always wanted to wake up White spirit in White people. It was not easy at the beginning I never gave up and I know that my efforts are not futile.
I am very busy with recording Graveland music. It takes me a lot of time and I do not have enough time to record Lord Wind music. But I have recorded 17 minutes of Lord Wind music and I am going to make put it on the internet so people can download it.
IF you want to use Lord Wind music in anyway, please feel free to do it. Here in Poland people use Lord Wind music during warriors fight shows and they cannot wait to hear new Lord Wind albums...
Once again thanks for your words, stay in touch
Darken

Well, it all depends on which genre of Darken's music you are looking into. I mean the intro to the OR website is Lord Wind. Whereas Graveland is extreme underground heathen metal. Personally, I would have to say a favorite of mine in regard to Graveland is "Creed of Iron (http://www.vinlandwinds.com/graveland/t_creed.htm) " (extreme heathen metal) and "Thousand Swords (http://www.vinlandwinds.com/graveland/T_grav.htm) " (more early black metal). Personally, I'd download a couple of tracks first because I don't know if Graveland would be your thing, or Lord Wind for that matter. I am can send you a few 'fave' tracks for a comparisen. Even then though, to me no Graveland album is the same and the lyrics are a must. As for Lord Wind I'd recommend "Heralds of Fight (http://www.vinlandwinds.com/graveland/b_lordwind.htm#lord%202) ".

I hope WH doesn't mind but he has a beautiful altar of which I will post pics of mine soon. Excellent job WH! Where did you get the candle holders from as I bought one from Celtica (http://www.celticawales.com/) some years ago but now cannot find them.

My favourite music for meditation and rituals is music I heard in the movie Conan the Barbarian...the fragment in the Snake Tower...I read that Basil Poledouris took inspirations from old music. So I started to seek and I found the original music...cantiga 166. You can listen to it in mp3. This style of music is a great source of inspiration for me. I would like to play such music in Lord Wind. cantiga 166 (http://www.capricornus.info/graveland/cantiga166.mp3)

To be honest it is that long ago since I saw Conan I can't quite remember the score for it. I like heavy music in general, but I prefer something a bit more melodic if I am going to blot or meditate.

I am not sure if is possible to buy Lord Wind albums right now because all editions are sold out.
I can share LW "Heralds..." and "Rites..." in mp3 in good quality.

No Colours rec. prepares re-edition of Lord Wind albums. They will be ready in the nearest future.
I am going to prepare new mix of "Rites...".

I am new to this forum (a wonderful one at that) and while I should probably create a new thread to introduce myself, I just had to ask Mr. Darken something first.

I love all of your albums (Thousand Swords is pure magic and I play it often). I was wondering where your most recent pictures are taken in, the building with the wooden panels. Is that your recording studio? If so, looks very appropriate.

Also (if I might ask) are your drums real or simulated for Graveland. I am a musician and seriously cannot tell. If they are simulated, that is amazing.

it is typical hat that Vikings and Slav wear during Viking Festivals. For fights they wear helmets and after fights they wear such hats...It is not problem with buying such hat, and it is cheap, it costs around 10 Euro.

Excuse my blatantly idiotic question, but:

I identify partly with Germanic. But you must know that Slavonic beliefs and traditions are very similar to Germanic ones. There are only differences in names, but the core is the same. Different tribes used to live on these lands, they mixed, so today people who try to restore traditions and beliefs of forefathers take inspirations from all these traditions.
I was born and I live in Breslau which has always been a German city. It became Polish after IIWW. In ancient times different tribes lived here and there was no division for Germany and Poland. And todays pagans understand this and they feel solidarity with one another.

Haels,

Darken, I am only 15 but you and your comrades and the music you create, are one of main things that drew me to the faith at such a young age. At the beginning of my path, the pictures of you in your pagan clothes etc. really did inspire me. The song lyrics and titles really got my head in gear and taught me loyalty and honour above all. Your heathen creative spirit is cherished.
