Hops & Hop Vines??

Well, the price of Hops & Hopo Pellets has doubled in the last 6 months.
And that's if you can find the kind you want, for the Style of Beer or Ale you are Brewing. So I decided to grow my own, this year.

I bought 3 Hop rhizomes, the my LHBS, local Home Brew store.
They like to climb about 18 to 20 feet. So I got some 16 foot 4x4'sand some
2x4's and I put up a big trellis, 17 feet tall.

The Hop vines are all 3 up, now. But, I jumped the gun. I bought a 4th rhizome, just in case one of the 3 misfired. So, now, I have to plant that one, so I haven't wasted $5.50.

Do any of you HomeBrew all or a large part of y'ur own beer?
I brew 30 to 40 gallons a year.
Have you tried to grow y'ur own Hops?
What varieties do you have?
I have Chinook(great for Bittering), Cascade and Willamette(Good Aroma & Flavour Hops) planted.

I've been waiting to move to start brewing. I am getting a nice house now with lots of room and a nice area in the yard to start growing hops. I still need the study up on it but if brewing is anything like cooking then I'll make some great beer. It would be cool to have people over and serve them one of my dishes and my own beer. What's hops running now?
