I would think it would be the time in which you express some doubt about your current religion, and start feeling a pull towards Odinism. The time period in which you are torn between one religion and another, teetering between them. I think this is the most difficult and trying time because you could really go either way. You're expressing a growing interest in Odinism, and at the same time worrying about betraying your "old" religion (I don't know what else to term it). It's a difficult time, just keep reading about Odinism and analyzing and rolling it around in your head. I know that the more I read and the more knowledge about Odinism I acquired the more right, I guess I would say, it felt.
I hope this helps, this is what came to my mind about the topic.

Most people who express to being Heathen are still in what some would call a "transition" stage... I believe it was Valgard who said "It takes a person a good 10 years to truly become Heathen". I would agree with him (+/- depending on the person), it takes time for people to make the complete change to the way they live, think, and act...

Well I guess I am more interested in Odinism then I am about learning anymore Christianity as the days go by I feel more of a pull towards Odinism. I don't consider myself a Odinist because I don't know enough. I still consider myself a Christian...but not really...Really confusing to try to say what religion I am right now.....

Knowledge per-se has little to do with it. We all learn as we go along. As long as you believe in the gods and are ready to make a commitment to them, then you can call yourself an Odinist.

I think it is highly dependent on a person when they reawaken......10 years....well heck...guess I have only been Heathen for 5 years!! ;)
Aren't we all born Heathen?

Guess most of us here are not Heathen then. Shall we start a new forum "Pretending to be Odinists.com"?
That was humour by the way.
Being around for a long time does not necessarily make a good heathen, just an old one. Many people live, think and act like heathens before they know what one is.
As Lonnie said, it depends on the person in question. I think it would also depend on definition.

Well said and very true..
You come to a ponint where you realize that you must shake off the dogma of christain thinking. You will find your place witht he God's meaning one day you come to a realization and everything clicks, I myself as anyone here can tell you have gone thought this. I was caught up in relating to the God's as though I were a xian, caught up in the why's and how comes of life. I expected the Gods to make things right, as if "God" was someone to bow to and look to make things all better. You will come to find an equality and more a kinship than a worship. Can they help? absolutley, can they maifest? Yes, BUT!! and a HUGE BUT! It is not only your responsibility to hold your own and strive to overcome, but learn in your heart that it all helps you grow no matter the diversity or obstacle. You will learn my friend and when it clicks it can be a wonderous thing learning to walk with the God's and not 3 steps behind. This is just my perspective on things, White Horse and Katia and others here can be looked to to help fill in the blanks, but you also have much "foot work to do also". It will come be patient and lern to flow with the expierience, it is a self empowerment not to be believed.
Ask as many questions as needed and know that we have your back with the proper advice :)

Wow ... what you said really made sense .. about the Christian thing..... I think that is one of the reasons Christianity has never clicked with me because I know in the pits of my heart that God won't take care of everything ... That I am responsible...Make sense?

That is brilliantly said, Teufelhunden, and completely true.
