Else Christennsen
The Folk Mother Passes From This Realm
It is with sadness that we must announce the death of Else Christenssen, the Folk Mother.
Else passed from this realm at 9-30pm on Wednesday 4th Merrymoon (May) , perhaps fittingly she passed from this realm on Wodensday for she surely will be welcomed in the other realms by the Divine ones.
There will be time to honour her and her works later, for now may we all spend some time to think of her, to give thanks for all the work she did, for the inspiration she gave, and to Hail her life. May she be surrounded with joy in the next realm.
Our thanks to the Gods for your life here. Our thanks to you Folk Mother.

Rest In Peace Else, youve earned it!

After she retired from her works it seems as if she was "called home". In a way although sad to see her go from the community, she goes on to a greater glory. So if you look at it in an "odinesque vein" it is a joyus thing to behold and a celebration.
Now Else can rest take comfort, and know things that we will not know until we are called home..

Amazing, she is called home as soon as she retires....
Hail Else!

Else was 91 years old, she was still working for our faith past her "Prime", no disrespect meant by that but she worked for our folk and gods for as long as she possibly could. Do what I did if you dont know much about her, look her up. I mean you do have the internet :p She did a lot for our folk and was a dedicated Odinist. An all around great woman for our faith. Someone who will be greatly missed by many I am sure.

There is a Book of Commemoration on the OR site that people can sign if they wish.

It might be worth pointing out here that the Odinist Fellowship website is NOT the website of Else's OF. This site belongs to to the bogus OF (in the UK) who were set up by an oathbreaker and former OR member. This is the person who set up the rival OR group a few years ago using the BM Edda address rather than the OR's BM Runic.
I won't go into details here but suffice to say that this deviant asked Else for permission to use the name Odinist Fellowship, which she unequivocally refused.
The fact that he continued to use the name anyway speaks volumes about the person concerned.
Please make your friends and contacts aware that this group has no link with the official Odinist Fellowship.

Is there an official website? What would be the address for that, then?

I dont think there is a official website at all.

Else's wishes were that the OR take over the operations of her OF. So I would conclude that the OR's website is the official one now.

That's right, there is no website for the OFFICIAL Odinist Fellowship.
Also I should stress that the OR has NOT taken over the OF. Else asked that the OR take over her library and her corespondnce but the OR will not be responsible for making any decisions about the future of the fellowship as that is a matter for their members.

Thanks for clearing that up. I did not mean to insinuate that the OR had taken over the OF.

Hi Hrafnas,
Thanks, I am sure that you did not. It is amazing how thing can be taken wrongly on the internet though so I thought it best to make that clear.

Bad choice of words on my part however.
I wonder if there will be a biography sometime of Else Christiansen's life?
