Erm...........that title might be not be the correct term ( I'm sure pinlighter will enlighten me if I'm wrong ) as i am not at all familiar with Astronomy.

But for anyone interested the moon will be caught in the earths shadow tonight 3/03/07 thus causing an eclipse.

First changes will be noticable from about 20.30 GMT onwards . The main feature seems to be on from about 22.20 GMT when the eclipse is most noticable , lasting til about midnight according to yesterdays press reports.

Hope it's a clear night for everyone watching!!

Sorry i can't help you out on this mate . All the information i posted was , i think, just pertaining to Briton.

Pinlighter will be sure to know whether you will be able to see it :) Might be worth a quick PM ?

Hope you can.

Was up on a hill with my girlfriend, started a fire, played a little Of the Wand & the Moon, drank some hot chocolate and beer, took pictures. We left at midnight (2300 GMT), and 15 minutes later it still looked the same, only a little bit reddish but mostly dark. It seems like we missed the highlight by 15 minutes, when it looked like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IMG_2674_copy2.jpg :( Was a nice night anyway.

Is it just me or was it "only" 95% and not a proper full lunar eclipse? :D

I too thought it wasn't fully darkened in the upper right corner. Maybe it changed after I had gone. Did it get redder at or after 2330 GMT? It wasnt very red when I left at 2315.

The earth's shadow is not sharp edged. There is a region called the penumbra round the perimiter where part of the sun is visible. I think if part of the moon was in full sgadow and one edge was still in the penumbra it might give this effect.

Watched it from the outskirts of Birmingham and despite being on the edge of a large conurbation with its expected light pollution, we had a brilliant view for the duration.Best bit was that we could see it from our window so no freezing involved :) We were told on our return to the 'sticks' that view from home was not as good with much less light pollution
