Been looking in to signing up, and will be doing so before the end of the year. My question is what kind of job should I be looking at if I want to end up in Germany. I know that most likely I will end up in Iraq but when I'm not there I want to be over by the old homeland.

Nothing secures you a seat in Duetschland these days. Used to be, that if you were a german translator you had a compy job....not anymore. Just assume your going to the sandbox and then you'll be pleased if you don't, but not bummed if and WHEN you do.
