I'll repeat what I said on the old forum:


I have a place, where I have some mail I made years ago, and a helmet I also made with my own hands: and a horn, hanging on the wall above it: and a couple of candles.

Every thing but the horn is my own work: and the horn was made by a craftsman.



It seems to me the important elements are:

Things that are NATURAL rather than artificial

Things that, if artificial, are MADE rather than MANUFACTURED

Things that, if made, are MADE BY ONESELF rather than others




Thus, candlelight rather than electric light, for example.

These ancient things link us to our ancient roots.
