Hi there~ What are you wanting to do? My name is Laurel, and I'm the Prison Affairs coordinator for the Odinic Rite. We have an outreach program that includes a book drive, writing contacts, community when people get out, and prison visits for Blots. We don't provide a dating service or penpals.
If you belong to a national organization, do they have a prison outreach program? That would be the first place to start...
I guess you could start writing people cold. You are taking more of a chance if you do that. Writing people one on one can be interesting, if that's the way you want to go.
It's safest and best to be part of a group. I did the lone ranger thing for a long time, and I learned lots of things the hard way. It's nice to have an organization who can watch your back.
I guess you have to decide what you want to do, and to what extent you are interested and proceed from there.
There is a general lack of volunteers willing to go into prisons for Blots. If you have a talent for exciting public ritual, a genuine personality, and the ability to lead strong personalities you could be much needed. This is not an easy job, but it's highly rewarding.

heil mein brudders,
i wanted to say a few words concerning the prison outreach here in this part of the vinland.i was behind the wire for the last ten years and stongly fought the system to be able to study and learn the practice of our ancestors and was severly persecuted from fellow so called brothers,because they were to scared to stand up for our rights.but yet i still fought.i tried to search every avenue that i could find to located our people that could point me in the direction that i needed to obtain the material so i could always learn to try and better myself instead of stagnating with the mentallity that the prisons wanted me to have.but most of the time all i got was once upon your release can we provide you with info.i give many thanks to Katja Lane of 14 word press for her dedication and helping me find places for me to write.There is also a Robert Wolfgang Wester that was dedicated to helping me learn more aspects of our beliefs.The Rune masters Guild for there help also.I guess that is enough for this note,until next time.
