If money is a problem, why don't you make your own hammer? Or if you have my metal or wood work skill levels (i.e. next to none), could you barter with someone who could make one for you?

And anyway, wearing a hammer pendant is not a requirement for Odinism. Living the life is though, so don't worry about whats round your neck too much.
